About The Commission
In democratic and civilized countries of the world, disputes arising in the field of public administration between people and authorities are usually dealt promptly, without complicated procedures, in a preliminary out-of-court procedure.
Lithuanian Administrative Disputes Commission is pre-trial institution. It was established in 1999. in carrying out the laws of the Republic of Lithuania on administrative cases and the procedure for pre-trial administrative disputes and performs the functions provided for in these laws, as a quasi-judicial institution that examines administrative disputes in a preliminary out-of-court procedure.
The Commission handle complaints (requests) from people and legal entities within 20 working days and makes decisions on them when individual administrative acts adopted by central state administration entities (ministries, departments, inspectorates, services, commissions and other central state institutions and their employees and officers) are contested.
